With Aquaman star and Game of Thrones alum Jason Momoa pulling hosting duty, the latest episode of Saturday Night Live of course featured a GoT sketch. On the talk show "Khal Drogo's Ghost Dojo," hosts Drogo and one of his chattier blood riders (Kenan Thompson) interviewed guests drawn from the show's extensive catalog of dead characters.

Coming at the end of a year parched for GoT content, the idea was definitely fun, but the execution was a bit patchy. Momoa struggled to channel the surly charm of the original Khal Drogo—this Khal was more along the lines of the nearly comatose dude who fell off his horse. Other impressions were also off. Beck Bennett's Hodor nailed his lines but not much else; Pete Davidson as the High Sparrow was, unsurprisingly, pretty much just Pete Davidson in a tunic.

The sponsors were on point, however, and included "Little Beard Twisties" and the Dothraki equivalent of Elf on a Shelf, "Khal on the Wall." He "knows if you’ve been naughty, and he’ll kill you."

The highlight was Kate McKinnon’s King Joffrey, who appeared in a segment that found the show pivoting to a Jerry Springer-style format. The audience booed while McKinnon’s Joffrey told the crowd to "cash him outside," before Joffrey's killer Olenna Tyrel (Aidy Bryant) came out ready to brawl. Check out the sketch below.
