The long-awaited trailer to the as yet unnamed Star Wars: Episode IX will debut in April, according to reports.
The big reveal comes from the generally reliable fan-site 'Star Wars News Net' (which we’d usually take with a pinch of salt, but their math seems to check out on this one.) SWNN says that Disney will use the Star Wars fan festival Celebration in 2017, where the The Last Jedi trailer was revealed, as a blueprint for Episode IX’s roll-out.
They believe that the Star Wars: Episode IX panel of Celebration 2019 should take place on Friday, 12 April, meaning that the first trailer could be live streamed from the event on YouTube.
From that point SWNN says that the Episode IX will be attached to screenings of Avengers: Endgame, which is set for release on 26 April.
Will we get the name before then? American morning TV anchor Mark Allen told his followers on Instagram that the title will be revealed a month later on the 4th May following a visit to Pinewood Studios, but that seems like a case of trolling more than anything else. A Redditor says they rummaged around the official site and found the title Star Wars: Balance of the Force, but who really knows.
There’s plenty of time left, anyway. Director J.J. Abrams tweeted on Friday that photography has been wrapped on the film, and it’s set for release in December.
