What's going on with the Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars spin-off on Disney+? At first there were rumours from some less-than-credible sources that it had been cancelled, which was officially denied. But then came the news that production had been pushed back from the summer to the start of next year, since executives weren't happy with the script or the planned plot.

But now Ewan McGregor has downplayed the situation, claiming that it isn't as bad as people are making out. TheWrap reports that the actor appeared on stage at a press conference late on Thursday (January 23) night, where he is quoted as saying: "We just pushed the shoot to the beginning of next year. The scripts are really good. I saw 90 per cent of the writing and I really liked it. All this bullshit about creative differences and all that stuff is, none of it true."

He continued: "We just pushed the dates... [The Rise of Skywalker just] came out, everyone had more time to read the stuff that had been written, and they felt that they wanted to do more work on it. So they slid the shoot. It’s not nearly as dramatic as it sounds online."

And there you have it, why would Ewan McGregor lie? Okay, he lied about his involvement in the project, but still. Why would he lie again?
