One of the few watchmakers that seem to understand the notion that people don't mind smartwatches as long as they don't make you look like you code for a living, TAG Heuer has taken its increasingly popular, beautifully designed Connected model and maxed it out with white gold and 589 diamonds, making it the most expensive smartwatch ever made... ever!

Unveiled at this year’s Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie Genève watch show (also known as SIHH 2018), the straightforwardly-named Tag Heuer Connected Full Diamond will cost prospective buyers a cool $180,000 (approximately £130,000).

Close in design to the Connected Modular 45 (a snip at £1,200), the Connected Full Diamond features a case and bracelet made out of 18K polished white gold and a total of 23.35 carats of baguette diamonds, while the watches Android software has been developed by Intel and Google and comes loaded withWi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity.

Oh, it's also water resistant to 50 metres. Although it would be a very brave billionaire who takes a dip wearing one of these.
