The Crown's Emma Corrin has expressed their feelings over being non-binary.

Known for portraying Diana, Princess of Wales, in Netflix's fourth season of the period show last year, the star publicly updated their pronouns to 'she/they' over a year ago.

"In my mind, gender just isn't something that feels fixed, and I don't know if it ever will be; there might always be some fluidity there for me," they told Vogue.

"I feel much more seen when I'm referred to as 'they,' but my closest friends, they will call me 'she'. And I don't mind because I know they know me."

They conceded: "But it's quite difficult because I'm not Emma, right? I'm an actor, and I have a job to do.

"My dresser and I really had a laugh about me putting on these 1960s bras [in Harry Styles' queer drama My Policeman]."

When Corrin originally announced their non-binary identity, they highlighted the need for LGBTQ+ representation by saying: "I think visibility is key with these things. I've felt it because I think my journey's been a long one and has still got a way to go.

"I think that we're so used to defining ourselves and that's the way sadly society works is within these binaries. It's taken me a long time to realise that I exist somewhere in between, and I'm still not sure where that is yet."
