Creepy, kooky, positively spooky. But enough about Annihilation - Oscar Isaac's now signed up to play greasy goth patriarch Gomez Addams in MGM's animated reboot of The Addams Family.

Given that the last Addams Family film went straight to DVD in 1998, the rest of the cast is surprisingly excellent.

Jeff Sneider of Collider has reported that Charlize Theron will voice Gomez's wife Morticia Addams, and their children Wednesday and Puggsley will be played by Chloe Grace Moretz and Stranger Things' Finn Wolfhard respectively.

We also know that Nick Kroll will be Uncle Fester, Bette Midler will be Grandmama and Allison Janney, who won an Oscar for her work in I, Tonya, will be Margaux Needler, the film's villain. Anyone who's seen I, Tonya will know Janney's capacity for being withering is pretty much unparalleled.

The story will follow the Addams Family as they have their neo-Victorian aesthetic ripped to pieces by Needler on a reality show while also prepping for a big family do. That seems like a very awkward time to go on a reality show, but then again neo-Victorian's quite an awkward aesthetic to work with generally. Awkwardness is the Addams' stock in trade.
