James Norton, the nice looking, versatile one from Sunday nights on the BBC, has been named as the most likely successor to inherit Daniel Craig's Tom Ford tuxedo after his odds of being the next Bond were slashed to 3/1.

The 32-year-old star of Grantchester, Happy Valley and new BBC drama McMafia has danced with the 007 rumours for a couple of years now, but is now the favourite according to bookmakers William Hill.

"The money has been coming in for 48hrs, apparently he is brilliant in the new BBC series McMafia and as a result he has jumped ahead of Tom Hardy and Jack Hudson in the betting to be the next Bond," said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.

Along with Norton at 3/1, William Hill have listed the other potential 007 candidates, including Tom Hardy at 4/1, Idris Elba at 10/1, Tom Hiddleston at 12/1 and Michael Fassbender at 14/1.

Still no word on Danny DeVito's odds, unfortunately.
