Fast becoming one of the game-changing voices in nightmarish entertainment, Jordan Peele last month gifted us the trailer for his forthcoming film, Us.

The Get Out writer and director currently has his hands in many pies, currently working on a vengeance-driven Nazi hunting TV series for Amazon, a reboot of The Twilight Zone and a spiritual sequel to cult horror classic Candyman in a now gentrified area of Chicago.

He's also producing a docuseries about Lorena Bobbitt, the woman who infamously cut off her husband's penis, and has just released trailer gives us some indication what to expect.

The four part series vows to tell "a different side" to the 1993 story which gripped America, reexamining how the media portrayed Bobbitt as a jealous woman and a “hot-blooded Latina” using trial testimony to relay the abuse she suffered from her husband, John Wayne Bobbitt.

Deadline reports that, "The series provides a fresh perspective on the story of Lorena Bobbitt and exposes how this event laid the groundwork for the modern 24-hour news cycle and increasing sensationalistic media coverage."

They add,"Lost in tabloid coverage and late-night talk show jokes, the Bobbitt story was a missed opportunity for a national discussion on domestic and sexual assault in America."

Premiering at the Sundance Film Festival later this month, Lorena will be added to 15 Amazon February.

A perfect post-Valentine's Day TV pick.
