A boyband in its heyday rarely ages well. While Justin Timberlake may have clinched a deal with Levi's, the wet look gel and staccato choreographed swoops of N*SYNC aren't so classic. The same can be said on this side of the pond too, with Take That's early bubblegum-pop-does-BDSM complete with chainmail codpieces bordering on Top 40 perversion.

The Jonas Brothers, however, are an exception.

While initially famous for a profitable brand of clean-cut, veneer-plated Disney perfection, their 2019 reunion has coincided with an explosion of their brand. The Jonas boys have never been bigger. Coincidentally, neither has their wardrobe.

At the premiere of Chasing Happiness, a new documentary on the inner workings of the Jonas machine, each brother clinched a trend that'll age far better than their unkempt lids of yore.

For Nick, it was co-ords. While something more aligned to the flammable floral two-pieces of Love Island, the 26-year-old cut a sharper picture with overarching merlot palette made memorable by a satin-like finish. Better yet, utilitarian touches (oversized pockets here, ribbed cuffs there) dialled down potential excess into more casual territory. Ideal, especially if your latest campaign trail isn't quite a Palme d'Or affair.

Joe Jonas decided to visit the archives, though. As the latest big name to hop in the time machine, Sophie Turner's newly-wedded husband went Seventies Lite: a pop of mustard beneath checks, and a touch of the eighties with a rolled-up sleeve. Granted, it's not quite the bellbottomed suiting of Hot Chocolate. But that's a good thing.

And finally, lest we forget Kevin Jonas. While he's without a Hollywood/Westerosi wife, the eldest Jonas is just as ready for the red carpet in what could be the boldest move du jour: a textured suit. Not just any old texture, either. This is a deconstructed animal print, of sorts. The sort of texture repurposed from the girlbands of yesteryear for the boybands of today.

While boyband is an unfair label to give the Jonas Brothers - a term loaded with historical style crimes that deserve a trial at the Hague. This isn't typical boyband stuff. Thanks to a triple threat from Ermenegildo Zegna's XXX collection, and the sort of star power only reserved for the upper echelons of Hollywood elite, the Jonas Brothers have gone from just boys in a band, to actual, stylish, men.
