In today’s world, proper stars are few and far between — yet Pharrell endures. We're talking about his career, yes, but also his perpetually flawless face. The man is nearly fifty, but looks about the same as he did when he emerged on the scene with N.E.R.D. two decades ago. That feat once seemed inimitable, until he and Adidas alumnus Rachel Muscat established Humanrace – the acclaimed beauty and fashion label which finally launched in the UK last weekend, exclusively in Selfridges.
Allow us to acquaint you with the four facets of Humanrace, each designed to empower people in pursuit of well-being.
Humanrace Skincare
Since its 2020 inception, a three-step three-minute facial routine has remained at the brand's core. Comprising a Rice Powder Cleanser, Lotus Enzyme Exfoliator (it tingles!) and Humidifying Face Cream – each vegan, each cruelty-free, each contained within refillable, recyclable, really Instagrammable grass green packaging – the triad of suitable-for-all skincare products all but guarantees a gleaming complexion à la Skateboard P.
Humanrace Bodycare
Hoping to stress the importance of nurturing the skin beyond your face, Humanrace spent 2021 concocting a range of bodycare products – namely, a Whiteclay Body Bar, Charcoal Body Bar and a Humidifying Body Cream. The latter, the buzziest of the trio, contains the same snow mushroom extract as the face moisturiser, an ingredient said to lock moisture and contribute to mimicking the benefits of humidity.
Humanrace Suncare
The suncare face of Humanrace is its youngest, born in summer 2022 out of Pharrell’s education in ozone deterioration and its correlation with rising levels of skin cancer. There's the SPF30 Ozone Face Protection Daily Moisturiser and SPF30 Ozone Body Protection Cream, both made for daily use and encased within handsome orange containers you’ll actually want to display.
Humanrace x Adidas
Since 2014, Pharrell has collaborated with Adidas to expand its vision; today, he continues to do so via Humanrace, forming comfortable, covetable clothes (and creps!) that radiate positive energy and subtly inspire mindfulness. Look out for cotton-knitted polo shirts, three stripe-adorned tracksuits, relaxed-fit wordmark hoodies, boxy-fit sweatshirts and recycled polyester-blend shorts – each discoverable in a colour that boosts your endorphins and suits your style.
