For the past few months, we’ve been forced to watch some of the most influential members of the Instagram glitterati (Luka Sabbat, Gigi Hadid etc.) stunt in pairs of SS22 Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1s as we patiently awaited the announcement of a public release date. How did they get hold of theirs? Through friends and family gifting and Sotheby's auctions, naturally.

It’s been a humbling experience, to say the least – one that’s had us brainstorming ways to get famous. (Preferably, ways that don't involve opening our personal lives up to twenty seasons of increasingly invasive reality television). But, finally, we can put our thinking caps and spider diagrams away, as the Swoosh has confirmed a drop date for the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 retail collection, and it’s probably much sooner than you think.

We can confirm that Drop 1 of LV x AF1 will be available to the public on the Louis Vuitton website from the 19 July. We can also confirm that the drop will consist of nine ultra-desirable Nike Air Force 1 Low and Mid colourways, including the highly coveted ‘Triple White’, ‘White/Comet Red’ and ‘White/Gym Green’ iterations. In case you’re wondering, it’s the latter that we’ve set our sights on. Trust us when we say this: you simply can’t go wrong with a fresh pair of all-white AF1s, especially when they’re formed from LV monogram-embossed calf leather.

What’s the catch? Some may say the hefty price tag (though that's nothing compared to what resellers would charge). Whilst the price point for your typical pair of Air Forces hovers around the £100 mark, a pair crafted by the French luxury fashion house will set you back at least £1,940. Is it worth it? We’d certainly argue so – it’s Virgil-designed Louis at the end of the day.
