Gaze around the Fast Company Innovation Festival, and it looks a lot like an event called the Fast Company Innovation Festival. Lots of check-shirted techies talking about blockchain. Gilet-clad investors pretending to know what they mean. Bookish men with soft stomachs and softer down jackets. Dads, basically. And not only did Kanye West attend. He's now one of them.

Rather than settle for three-quarter trousers and toggled shoes, however, the 42-year-old wrapped up warm for a day out with the kids at the local farmer's market, followed by a studio session with Boi-1da. So many, in fact, that it surpasses the current appetite for swollen silhouettes and is instead down the doctor's office asking for a strong course of anti-inflammatories. It works for Balenciaga, so why not Yeezus too?

But the dad vibes didn't end there. Down south, Kanye went for romper stomper hiking boots (from his own Yeezy line) that will never, ever set foot in a national park. It is a move in-step with the wider trend for general outdoorsy-ness, though, and proves that form and function needn't be mutually exclusive. A lesson that his fellow techies, who've leaned hard into the latter, should learn from. Beats ill-advised church merch, at least.
