The Best Red Carpet Looks From the 2023 LACMA Gala
From the unveiling of the new Gucci to the simple joy of seeing celebrities dressed to the nines again, the evening didn't disappoint
It's been a while, folks. Sure, we have our "Chris Pine Autumn" moments. And yes, we will always appreciate Pedro Pascal stepping out in some easy, affordable sneakers. But the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike has put a serious damper on glitzy premieres, star-studded red carpets, and all pomp and circumstance that come along with them. And as it so often the case, we didn't realise how badly we were missing those moments until this past weekend, when the 12th annual LACMA Gala brought A-listers out en masse. Man, it's nice to (vicariously) revel in the glamour once again, isn't it?
The evening was co-chaired by Leonardo DiCaprio and Eva Chow and sponsored by Gucci, so it's no surprise that an overwhelming number of the guests lived it up while wearing the luxury label. What was a little less expected, though, was catching the Hollywood debut of the new Gucci, with designer Sabato De Sarno's first foray into formal menswear on full display. The designs—"highlighting the classic Italian '90s straight fit, enriched with the archival Round Interlocking G button," according to a release from the label—could be spotted on celebs ranging from Elliot Page and A$AP Rocky to Andrew Garfield and Pedro Pascal. Who else was there? Everyone, it felt like. Keanu Reeves and Lenny Kravitz. Ke Huy Quan and Jesse Plemons. Ben and Jen! The night was stacked, is what we're saying.
