At this point, we’re sure everyone is aware of the largest shopping event of the year that is Black Friday. We hate to break it to you, but Boxing Day is old news. The American holidays have well and truly taken over.
Menswear legend and all-round British golden brand Paul Smith has decided to play ball this year (it's not always a given). The label has just dropped a discount code to give customers a generous 30 per cent off nearly everything on-site. All you need to do is add to basket, then enter the words 'BLACKFRIDAY' at checkout to see the total magically drop.
If you’ve any gaps in your autumn/winter wardrobe that need filling, Black Friday is the perfect time to stock up on Paul Smith’s elevated classics. Impeccably cut tailoring, luxury leather goods and quality knitwear, included. Even better, the label is a trusty go-to for a pre-Christmas gifting haul that will limit your stress, and maximise your budget, in the run up to 25 December.

Is it worth shopping Black Friday deals?
When Black Friday first travelled across the pond to hit the stores in the UK, it was all about tech, with TVs, smartphones and laptops as the main event. Now, though, it’s even surpassed Boxing Day as the best sales event of the year – especially when it comes to menswear. Department stores End Clothing, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols have been known to offer up to 40 per cent off for the entire weekend, so you’re covered whether you’re a self-confessed sneakerhead or simply a classic man at heart.
Does Paul Smith take part in Black Friday?
Now, there’s some good news and some bad news. Paul Smith, the British brand known and loved for its expert craftsmanship and those iconic rainbow stripes, doesn’t always go in for it: back in 2021 the British designer withdrew from the Black Friday sales altogether.
But, then, last year the brand returned with a code that offered a decent 25 per cent off at checkout. And for 2023, much to our delight, the brand has upped this deal to 30 per cent. It doesn’t get more satisfying than a blanket discount that saves you from scrolling the depths of the clearance – we've all been there, buying a size up in search of a 'bargain'.
When is Black Friday 2023?
Every year, the shopping frenzy coincides with Thanksgiving. Whilst the American holiday is on the fourth Thursday of November, Black Friday is on – you guessed it – the fourth Friday – because who doesn’t want to traipse around the shops the day after stuffing themselves with a Turkey roast?
This year, it’s on 24 November. And, luckily, there’s no need to shop in person. Armed with a trusty iPad, laptop or smartphone, you can do all the shopping from the comfort of your sofa. The sales typically last until the following Monday, so you don't to panic buy either.
