Recently, Prince William and Prince Harry have been jetting off, as royals are wont to do, to places like the set of Star Wars: The Last Jedi to dress up as stormtroopers for uncredited cameos in the latest instalment of the film franchise.
And tonight, both men—sans wife and fiancee—showed up at the movie's London premiere to walk the red carpet and cavort with other guys dressed like stormtroopers and, of course, BB-8.
This is notable not just because the idea of a couple of genuine royals dressing up as stormtroopers to obscure their identities feels like a Star Wars sub-plot, but because both princes wore Very Good Tuxedos (TM) to the premiere. Take a look at the shot above and admire the perfect break-free hem of the trousers on William. Look below that and check out those velvet slippers, an old-school style flex fit for a (future) king if ever there was one.
Harry, for his part, opted for patent lace-ups and a bit more visible shirt cuff. He also broke from his brother's look and skipped the pocket square, though both rocked a classic peak lapel jacket and (in a slightly more modern and less formal break from convention) a simple button front shirt without studs or a covered placket.
When it comes to black-tie style, the misses tend to come just as fast and furious as the hits—especially at big-budget premieres. So when a couple of guys get it really right (yes, even when they're princes), it's worth calling out their success. Well done, gentlemen.
