Following his Dior ambassadorship (tough gig) in early 2017, Rami Malek enjoyed a bit of time off both professional and fashionably. Well, no longer! At Raf Simons' SS19 Calvin Klein show, the Bohemian Rhapsody star's style comeback was enough to halt the front row entirely. Better yet, it's one every man can emulate, too.
Malek's choice of overcoat - a classic brown check - is the perfect shell for autumn. Not only can it layer up with most staples in your wardrobe, it's also a firm pivot from neutral without overstepping the mark. So not quite monochrome tedium, but a far cry from leopard print peacocking.
What's more, you should factor in the old cost-per-wear ratio. While you may spend more on something well-made, it'll last much longer - physically and trend-wise. It makes sense to fork out a little extra in this instance when an overcoat will hardly fall out of fashion.
