During the British summertime, the mercury is prone to numerous peaks and troughs. This makes dressing difficult. So let us pay our respects to Ryan Reynolds, a man who this week nailed the summer layering conundrum for the rest of us.

While working the rope line before a KISS FM appearance in London, the Deadpool star enlisted a trio of pieces up-top - which may seem overkill in mid-20s heat, unless you focus on lightweight fabrics like Reynolds for a cool look in every sense.

A thin jacket (by Brunello Cucinelli on this occasion) is easily-stowed into a backpack, and a vest or T-shirt beneath a printed Cuban collared shirt is a move straight from the Romeo + Juliet playbook (we're talking Baz Luhrmann's sickeningly well-dressed adaptation, not Shakespeare's Globe pantaloons). Pair with jeans and white kicks down south to complete a fail-safe formula.

Get your own Reynolds-ready look below (and probably enlist a backpack to stow it in).
