Honey Boy is doing well. Very well, in fact, with critics tipping Shia LeBoeuf's autobiographical coming-of-rage tale for Oscar season. It's reinvigorated Shia LaBeouf's career. But there's also new life in his wardrobe: one day, Instaviral all-whites; a crop top the next.
In LA, while seemingly asking a distant photographer for the time, the 33-year-old appeared in a buttercup sweatshirt with a self-sheared hem. Yes, sounds a bit Flashdance. But in practice, LaBeouf wisely keeps his midriff hidden, and the silhouette square: the boxy trend that's appeared on runways at Dries Van Noten, Ermenegildo Zegna and Dolce & Gabbana translates well to vibrant sportswear, too.
And those jeans? We've seen those jeans before, haven't we? The cropped denim that once made LaBeouf's week is now making his entire year. Paired with white socks and gym class sneakers (always battered, but never broken), it's an easy way to take your summer jeans into the colder months. After all, you shouldn't suffer hypothermia, and your fellow commuters shouldn't suffer the corned beef patina of exposed skin in winter.
So, a fruitful crop for LaBeouf, on all fronts. Maybe we'll survive the winter after all, papa.
