The Nike Attack (formally known as the Nike Mac Attack) has had its strongest year since the mid-eighties. It has Mr Travis Scott to thank.

Back in May, the Houston-born rapper was snapped in a version of the trainers complete with the signature of his on-going collaboration with the sportswear giant: a reverse swoosh.

A month later, Nike utilised the brand ambassador to bring some buzz to the big return of the 1984-born silhouette. Alongside its muse, John McEnroe (a tennis ledge), Scott starred in a campaign for the sneaker titled ‘Rebel like the OG’.

The original (and, at this point, only) colourway – a combination of grey, white and navy blue (official name: 'light smoke grey') – dropped on the Nike SNKRS app and in Nike retailers worldwide the succeeding week.

The drop was, as expected, met with high demand as sneakerheads, style connoisseurs and Scott fans (not to mention modish members of McEnroe's own following) jockeyed to secure a pair of the court-ready kicks.

LeBron James received a pair, too – through more effortless means, of course.

Alternative colourways soon followed, including 'red crush', 'black/white' and some designed in collaboration with North Carolina-based sneaker joint Social Status.

But the hypesters have been patiently waiting it out for the very reverse swoosh-adorned pair that Scott sported back in May, praying to the sneaker gods that it wasn't a 1 of 1.

Much to their delight, the hitmaker took to Instagram yesterday to confirm his Cactus Jack x Nike Attack is officially dropping. The sneaker subsequently appeared in the 'upcoming' tab of the Nike SNKRS app.

Let's take a look at the hip-hop heavyweight's remix.

As mentioned above, this brand-new take on the trainer is distinguishable by a reverse swoosh – a detail made famous by his Air Jordan 1 Mocha (2019) – positioned on the lateral sidewall.

There's also a Cactus Jack logo embroidered on the heels of each pair.

Other than that, the design is identical to the pairs once worn in-game by McEnroe. That means a Nike wordmark on the heel, and a vibrant checkerboard tongue label that matches the vibrant checkerboard box.

At just £129.95 (that's the same price as the OG iteration currently sitting in various sizes on SNKRS, End and Seven Store), you can colour us keen.
