Movies have teased us with all manner of cool, futuristic tech over the years.

Occasionally, like with Nike's self-lacing trainers from Back to the Future, we all then spend years eagerly waiting the day this tech enter the realms of reality. Well that day is here, people.

Just a few short decades after appearing on the big screen, these self-tying kicks are going on sale in a couple of weeks.

Dubbed the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0, the sneakers will set wannabe owners back $720 (£580) a pair.

The trainer-craving woes only increase too. Even if you can stomach that ridiculous asking price, chances are you'll never be able to find a pair, even after their December 1 launch.

Nike has revealed that the shoes will only be available to Nike+ members at the Nike Soho store and Nike Clubhouse in New York City.

So, what do you get for this lofty fee? Well, on top of their self-tightening party piece, the trainers feature the same soft blue lights as their BTTF inspiration.
