On the second spookiest day of October, Friday the 13th, Nike will resurrect a recently deceased sneaker icon: the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low, a hallowed four-year-old model that was pronounced dead after the ‘olive’ colourway (just the fifth of its kind) dropped earlier this year.
However, the collaborative silhouette won’t return in its exact original form. Its second life will see the kick – now finished in Frankenstein-esque hues – boast a physique more befitting of the golf course than the basketball court.
Makes sense, really, as Michael Jordan himself has sought comfort in golf since his retirement from basketball. He even has his very own invite-only golf club, which is based in Florida and called Grove XXIII (to save you Googling, that's Grove 23, named after his Chicago Bulls number).
Modifications to the design include a new outsole that sees the traditional tread pattern raised for better turf grip, and a new phantom green tongue label complete with the Jordan Golf logo.
But, by and large, this is the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low you know and love, back for a second shot at life.
There’s the Cactus Jack motifs (that’s Scott’s record label-cum-lifestyle brand, for you novices); the crackled leather reverse swoosh, and the earthy-coloured shoe box filled with pink wrapping paper.
Exciting news, then, for the golfers who listen to Utopia as they practise their putts, as well as the sneakerheads prepared to cosplay as them this spooky season.

Akin to Nike Skateboarding drops, the Swoosh is striving to ensure that the latest Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low finds its way to the very people it's designed for: golfers.
Accordingly, only those who have lost out on at least three previous Travis Scott x Nike drops and have purchased Nike Golf products between 1 January 2022 – 8 October 2023 will be in with the chance of gaining exclusive access to the shoe on the Nike SNKRS app.
