Snoop Dogg has done a lot of good: 'Drop It Like It's Hot' still resolutely bangs, for one, and he's pretty progressive (2017 saw the Doggfather publicly support same-sex marriage). But style has never been his strong point. We refer you to the glorification of pimp culture via lime green flared three-piece suits.
The times they are a changing, though. At the launch of his latest tome From Crook To Cook: Platinum Recipes From Tha Boss Dogg's Kitchen (excellent gift for your nan this Christmas, by the way), the 47-year-old nailed statement winter dressing.
Which, in this instance, means an overcoat made memorable with an oversized stole. It's a statement move, sure. But excess volume is toned down by a darker palette, yet still enjoys a pop of colour thanks to a fail-safe rollneck: if you've yet to invest ahead of party season, you should do so right now.
Better yet, it was still all very Snoop Dogg - but just the right amount. This is Happy Medium Snoop Dogg; not quite the jarring, confectionary-suited Snoop Dogg that freelanced for Katy Perry, but not incognito tracksuit-and-shades Snoop Dogg either. You can nail the Goldilocks formula without losing your personal style, is what we're saying.
