A. Lange & Söhne’s Odysseus was introduced in 2019 and was the first stainless steel, series-produced watch the company had ever made.

For dedicated fans of the brand, of which there are many, it was a real moment.

Having worked previously only in precious metals, here was a steel “sports” watch with an integrated bracelet they could compare with Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak and Patek Philippe’s Nautilus.

Now A. Lange & Söhne has launched a version of the Odysseus in another new material for the brand, titanium.

At 43 per cent lighter than steel, that makes quite a difference. Titanium is also particularly hardy, making this one luxury sports watch you might actually feel good about running around in.

The dial is also a novel ice-blue brass colour, and the watch is produced in a limited run of 250 pieces.

A clear step into further exploring a younger, sportier and “more casual” audience than some of its more traditional highly-complicated, high-end pieces, the new titanium Odysseus has a 50-hour power reserve and is water resistant to 120 meters.

The large day and date display and subsidiary seconds display are typically Lange – even if everything else is, in the brand’s words, intriguingly different.
