Kate Moss Speaks

The great Craig McDean photographed Kate Moss for our prestigious September cover – her hugely publicised return to the men's glossy market after a 17-year hiatus.

McDean, a long-time collaborator and good friend of Moss, was the obvious first choice to capture what was always bound to be another significant and iconic moment in her 25-year reign as fashion's high preistess.

September also sees the release of a new book by McDean; Amber, Guinevere and Kate: A Decade in Fashion Photography. It chronicles the evolution of his three muses: Moss, Guinevere van Seenus and Amber Valletta.

Encompassing 1992-2002 and shot entirely on film, the book features never-before-published photographs, outtakes from famous shoots and contact sheets. There's also a forward by Mathias Augustyniak of M/M (Paris) and writer Glenn O'Brien.

To coinicde with her most recent collaboration with McDean, Moss has selected six of her favourite images from the book, and shares – exclusively with Esquire – her memories.
