Cambridge graduate, Bond actress and the woman chosen to play Winnie Mandela: Naomie Harris' combination of brains, beauty and talent is there for all to see.

Particularly in Esquire's January issue, where the actress stars in an exclusive shoot.

Alongside these stunning images, she tells us about being cast in the upcoming Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom biopic ("You really feel the weight of responsibility"); what it was like tackling her character (“I think it’s almost easier to understand Winnie than Nelson, because he does something that is so against human instinct") and what the woman herself made of her potratyal ("She loved it"). Having seen her powerhouse performance in the film for ourselves, we can't say the latter is at all surprising.

London-born Harris also explains how she kick-started those rumours about her Mandela co-star Idris Elba becoming the next 007, and how it felt to get the 007 sidekick role herself.
