In case you didn’t know, December is the most popular month of the year to get engaged. On one hand, it’s a family-filled time when good news equals good cheer, but it’s also an ideal way to tick your significant other’s Christmas present off the list.

1 | Know Your Type
Broadly speaking there are three categories that men fall into when buying an engagement ring, and knowing which fits you best is a very good start.
'The cautious type' has told his girlfriend that they may get engaged at some point, so they will look in the shops together so that he can surprise her at some point in the future.
'The twosome' – he has proposed already and they have both decided to enjoy the experience of engagement ring shopping together.
'The adventurous type' is prepared to go it alone but will need plenty of support from the sales person. He will then surprise his girlfriend with the engagement ring.
2 | Take Your Time
There is no right or wrong way to do it. The important thing is to remember is that the ring will be on her finger for many years to come, so it’s worth immersing yourself in the whole experience and taking your time.
Buy an engagement ring from a recognised and reputable brand as they will be able to support you in the future or offer additional services in years to come should you need them.
3 | Follow the ‘Four Cs’
