Esquire Lab: 10 Best Nose Hair Trimmers To Invest In
These easy-to-use grooming gadgets will keep protruding stragglers at bay
There’s a lot of grooming that goes on behind the scenes to keep you looking sharp, and tackling nose hair is one of them. It’s time to deal with the matter at hand by investing in a trusty nose trimmer to eradicate unwanted hair.
Whether those pesky stragglers are starting to tickle, or you simply want to avoid a social faux pas, these handy gadgets will leave your nostrils looking ship-shape in seconds.
Thanks to modern tech, your standard nose trimmer has also had a much-needed upgrade. It can now deal with strays from not only your nose, but ears, eyebrows and beards, too, justifying the purchase price and streamlining your bathroom shelf in one swoop.
So, we asked 220 men to help us trial 15 nose hair trimmers from leading brands such as Philips and Remington – these were deemed the best nose hair trimmers to invest in now, but scroll on for our detailed reviews.

Is it safe to trim nose hair?
Nose hair is there for a reason – to retain moisture and trap harmful particles from entering your body – but trimming it is only dangerous if you’re poking sharp scissors up there.
The best nose hair trimmers are comfortable to use and much faster (and less eye-watering) than attempting to use tweezers. They tend to gently remove or merely shorten hairs, without nicking or irritating the delicate surrounding skin.
Nose trimming isn't a permanent solution, but it is the safest. Does anybody really want to endure the debacle of waxing their nostrils? It's a hard pass from us.
What should I look for in a nose trimmer?
Nose trimmers come in an array of shapes and sizes, so it really comes down to personal preference based on your grooming needs.
A rotary trimming head is usually the most popular as they tend to be rounded and shorter, meaning you can't cause any accidental damage. A foil guard trimmer, meanwhile, features a sideways blade that helps you reach the sides of your nostrils more easily. However, these can take a bit of practice to use safely.
Waterproofing is another important factor to consider. If you like to multitask and shower or soak while you trim, choose a showerproof trimmer that can be used wet or dry.
Some models also come with trimming combs for neatening up your beard after tackling your ears and nose. These are handy if you need to save on cabinet space. If you've already got a beard trimmer for styling, plump for a straightforward nose and ear trimmer for a fool-proof experience.
How we test nose hair trimmers
Our panel of 220 men put a range of nose hair trimmers to the test to see which model came out on top.
Each panellist tried one of 15 market-leading nose hair trimmers and was asked to judge how quick and easy it was to use, as well as trying out any attachments on their ears, eyebrows and stubble.
They reported back on whether they experienced any pinching or tugging while trimming and how easy the trimmer was to clean and store.
Back at Esquire HQ, our expert testers used a noise meter to test how loud each trimmer was in use (you don't want to wake your other half with your nose trimming in the morning after all.) These are the ones that made the cut and earned themselves our Esquire Approves endorsement.
