Is Margot Robbie About To Get Her Very Own Harley Quinn Solo Movie?

She's signed a massive new deal

There wasn't a lot of good to take from the steaming pile of overwrought clichés and squealing non-drama that made up Suicide Squad.

But Margot Robbie emerged from the critically lambasted mess with her swelling reputation intact, and now it looks like she's going to be rewarded with a Harley Quinn solo project.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Margot Robbie has signed a new deal with Warner Bros. that will have her both starring in, and producing, multiple films for the studio, only one of which is the Harley Quinn movie.

It's thought that the studio were holding off on committing to a solo movie until they knew how Suicide Squad would perform. Sure enough, it become a mystifying box office smash, and now the project is back on track.

As a producer of the Harley Quinn movie, Margot will have more creative control over the character (which is a good thing, because director David Ayers' Harley Quinn was an inconsistent mess), and you would expect that Jared Leto's underused Joker would also have a big part to play.
