Carrie Fisher Will Be In Star Wars, But Not In CGI

So what's going to happen?

When Disney promised not to digitally recreate the late Carrie Fisher for their upcoming Star Wars films, fans started to wonder if she'd even have a part to play in Episode IX, as was originally planned.

But now Disney has confirmed that Princess Leia will make an appearance, thanks to recent footage granted by the Fisher family, according brother Todd and daughter Billie Lourd.

Lucasfilm used a lot of CGI in recent Star Wars off-shoot Rogue One, but it seems that producers are instead choosing to work around the limitations of scarce footage.

Fisher, who first starred as Princess Leia in 1977, had shot her scenes for the upcoming Episode VIII before her passing last year at the age of 60.
