You Can Watch 'It' In A Cinema Full Of Clowns, If You Want

Cinema makes least tantalising offer ever ahead of horror reboot

With the early reviews suggesting that rarest of things – a quality horror movie reboot – may be upon us, anticipation for is high for the release of It.

But would you watch it sat in a cinema full of clowns?

That's the demented premise dreamed up by the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, Texas where they're celebrating the film's release by hosting a special screening in which everyone dresses up as Pennywise, the Stephen King invention that launched a million cases of coulrophobia.

A post from the cinema read: "For this special clown screening of It, all attendees should arrive dressed as a clown in order to attend.

"Please arrive in your own Pennywise best and be ready to float with us."

Aside from attending a screening of Jaws cast adrift in an ocean of great whites or sharing a large popcorn with a room of velociraptors at Jurassic Park, we can't think of anything worse.

It, directed by Andrew Muschietti and starring Finn Wolfrad (Stranger Things) is out on 8 September.
