Sometimes, being weird, introverted, contrary and downright scary isn't enough to stamp your name on the memories of generations to come. Sometimes the only way to secure a place on life's golden ladder is to make a play for a career as a bearded, bespectacled rap artist.
Or so runs the thought process of lost-in-the-woods Hollywood actor Joaquin Phoenix. Tailed for the past year by Casey Affleck for a documentary outlining the actor's outlandish stab at becoming a hip-hop superstar, the film follows Phoenix's utterly bizarre (and very, very bad) circuit of gigs and all the requisite downtime debauchery. Scheduled for release on September 10, the trailer - released yesterday - looks pretty legitimate, though we're still not convinced.
