Featuring cameos from big names such as Guy Pearce, Ralph Fiennes and Evangeline Lilly, The Hurt Locker's real stars are its three lesser-known leads - Jeremy Renner (Dahmer, The Assassination of Jesse James), Anthony Mackie (Half Nelson, We Are Marshall) and Brian Geraghty (We Are Marshall, Jarhead). They play members of Bravo Company, part of a small counterforce specifically trained to handle the homemade bombs, or IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices), that account for more than half of American deaths since the conflict began.
