How I Work: A Field In England Director Ben Wheatley

As fans of British director Ben Wheatley's previous films Kill List and Sightseers, both slightly barmy and completely different from each other, it's not surprising that he went down a completely new tack again for his latest A Field in England.

Starring Michael Smiley (Kill List), Peter Ferdinando (Tony), Reece Shearsmith (The League of Gentlemen) and Julian Barratt (The Mighty Boosh) amongst others you'll know well, it tells the story of a group of 17th century soldiers in the English Civil War who are captured by an alchemist in the aftermath of battle, quickly descending into a psychedelic nightmare. So far, so Wheatley.

Just as unpredictable as the subject matter is the method with which the film was released - simultaneously distributing via cinemas, free TV, on Blu-ray & DVD and on Video-on-Demand on the same day - billed as the world’s first simultaneous film release.
