It's a long shot

While there is no denying his prowess on the pitch, Cristiano Ronaldo has never been the world's most likeable football player. Nor has he ever seemed the sport's most interesting. He has, however, been deemed worthy of a documentary that could show him in a whole new light.

Filmed over 14 months, BAFTA-winning director Anthony Wonke was granted rare access to the triple Ballon D'Or winner, meaning we can expect to see less of 'Ronaldo the footballer' and more of 'Cristiano the father, family-man and friend' according to the press release.

Could this be the turning point when people outside of Manchester and Madrid learn to love a man who refers to himself as CR7? It's too early to tell, but as a football fan, it's hard not to be curious.

Ronaldo will be released on 9 November.
