5 Heart-Racing Reasons Why You Should Be Excited For FIFA 17

Better graphics, convincing crowds and Messi's terrible haircut

While we'd normally join in with cynics who say it's "just £50 for a squad update," this year's FIFA trailer (all shot in-game, apparently), does have us pretty excited.

There's a jumping Klopp, a sulking Wenger (with an abnormally large head), Messi's hair, Pogba's dab and a terrifyingly life-like Jamie Vardy (he's always terrifying, to be fair.)

Here are 5 reasons why it should probably be in your Amazon basket already.

1 | The Graphics

Most Popular

If you've ever wanted to peer into the dark, life-like recesses of Arturo Vidal's face, then this is the game for you. EA are using a new game engine called Frostbite, which means that FIFA looks and flows better than ever.

2 | Improved Managers

It looks like they've really gone in with manager animations this year, with all the heavy hitters present including Wenger's caterpillar coat, Jose's constant arrogant smirk and Jurgen Klopp losing his s**t whenever Liverpool do so much as win a corner. Do they have Pardew's dance, though?

3 | Celebrations

You just know that you're going to get battered 7-1 online by a 12-year-old prodigy using Man Utd, who will then proceed to scream incoherently down his mic, before dabbing furiously at you for approximately 13 minutes. On second thoughts, better celebrations could be a terrible idea.

4 | Better Crowds

In previous FIFAs it was always an immersion-breaker when the camera panned to the hollow-eyed cardboard cutouts that were supposed to be the crowd, but no more! Just look at that soft, ambient lighting shimmering off those lifelike fans.

It's yet to be seen if they come pre-loaded with drunken fighting and sickening chants, though.

5 | Messi's Hair

Just to clarify, Messi's current platinum blonde lid is awful, but the attention to detail from EA when it comes to the players' hair and tattoos (lots and lots of tattoos) is commendable.
