Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are set for a rough divorce battle, but it won't be over money or property.
According to TMZ, the couple has a whopping 12 properties together, but luckily for their divorce papers, they all bought them before they were married or even before they started dating. Brad owns 7, Angelina owns two, and the two of them bought three of them together before getting married. And their agreement reportedly makes it pretty easy to split up their property.
Naturally, the family's homes are spectacular. Brad bought their home in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles back in 1994, and since then, they have bought surrounding properties to keep their lives private. The two of them bought the Chateau Miraval winery back in 2012, and recently tried to sell their $3.5 million home in the French Quarter of New Orleans to no avail. They're also rumored to own a $3.8 million villa on the island of Majorca, Spain.
Angelina's attorney, Laura Wasser, usually advises celebrities to move "quickly and quietly," settling cases privately without much fanfare, according to the New York Times. The money issues won't be much of a problem, but the custody battle over the couple's six kids will reportedly be brutal. Angelina filed for full physical custody, but Brad will likely fight tooth and nail for joint custody instead. Divorce is difficult and sad for every family, especially when kids are involved, and it turns out that no amount of money or fame can change that.
