And honestly? Being on his side felt a bit weird and uncomfortable, like slipping on someone else's verruca sock.
So we're glad to find that Morgan has taken it upon himself to realign the cosmic balance by involving himself in another completely unnecessary war-of-words with a world famous model.
The former Daily Mirror chief has taken aim at Esquire favourite Emily Ratajkowski after he deemed the model's Golden Globes outfit too revealing in a tweet. Knickers = bad feminism, or something:
But in a dignified move, the model decided to completely ignore his inflammatory words, instead opting to post a picture of her outfit in all its glory:
