British boxer Anthony Joshua has suffered waves of abuse from islamophobic Twitter users after sharing a photo from the inside of a mosque.

In a picture shared to his Twitter and Instagram accounts yesterday, the IBF Heavyweight champion wrote the caption: 'Besides luck, hard work & talent.. Prayer is a solid foundation. It was nice to join my brother as he led through afternoon prayer'

According to Metro, Joshua isn't thought to be a practicing Muslim. It is understood that the Olympic champion was merely engaging in prayer with his Muslim friends.

But that news clearly didn't filter down to the toxic depths of Twitter. Joshua started to receive immediate backlash for the tweet, most notably from @RightWingerRoy.
