Along with stemming the flow of the far right, the best thing to come out of Emmanuel Macron winning the French election on Sunday was Colin; a Twitter egg allegory for the world we now occupy.

Allow us to set the scene. Colin is a self-proclaimed "bad boy of BREXIT!" from Great Yarmouth. Colin's twitter handle is @Wollygogg. Colin's profile picture is this:
Colin also claimed that his 13-year-old son hacked into his Ladbrokes betting account and placed £500 on Marine Le Pen to win the election, which is where things get tasty.
Master communicator that he is, Colin proceeds to deploy the divide and conquer approach after not hearing back from Ladbrokes.
Not the police, Colin!
Out of nowhere, Radio 2 nice guy Jeremy Vine gets dragged into the furore.
Colin then helpfully explains that his son, who clearly has a different sense of humour to the rest of us, placed the bet on Le Pen as a "joke".
Suspicious as it seems, it would be difficult to draw a solid conclusion on the matter... if it wasn't for the fact that, well, Colin bragged about placing a £500 bet on Le Pen to win.
Unless that was also his son playing another mental joke on everyone.
Thankfully, Colin is ready to bounce back from Twitter ignominy.
Five stars in Dubai, baby!
But bad luck for Ladbrokes, because they have lost Colin's custom!
As always, there were some creative reactions from the Republic of Twitter regarding Colin's misfortune.
And, the question we were all thinking...
And that's enough internet for today.
