Sixteen, a tricky age. Hormones, angst, Jack Kerouac and Xbox Live are all fighting for space in your tiny arrogant brain. You're not a man, yet you no longer feel like a boy; the bright lights of your future still a speck on the horizon. And then bloody Real Madrid come along and drop £40million on you like it's nothing...
Well, at least that's the case for a certain Vinicius Junior, world football's latest wunderkid (Kylian Mbappe is SO early May 2017).
A skillful winger with an eye for goal, the Flamengo and Brazil under-17 forward has only made one senior appearance for the Rio de Janeiro side, yet that hasn't stopped him becoming the most-expensive signing ever from the Brazilian league.
Not wanting to face a repeat of the Neymar Jr scenario, that saw him move to rivals Barcelona and actually live up to the manic hype, Real have moved early for Vinicius, but will let him stay at Flamengo until at least 2019.
While Vinicius Junior looks like quite the prospect and is highly regarded back home in Brazil (he also has a great name), there are plenty of other mercurial Brazilians who, unlike Neymar, could never quite bring it to the big stage.
Remember when Robinho was the next Pelé? Remember Denilson?
If you want to see what he actually plays like, he's got one of those YouTube skills videos where everything is repeated three times and there's a Euro trash soundtrack for no reason whatsoever.
