It looks like Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk will have a challenger for 2017's goriest war epic.
The latest trailer for Call of Duty: WWII was showcased during E3 this week, and it looks like Activision have gone all in on making this the most immersive and intense story mode of the series so far.
In the game, you'll land in Normandy on D-Day and fight your way through a number of iconic locations. You play as Ronald "Red" Daniels, a rookie Private in the United States Army. Multiplayer is, as ever, a big focus – but most fans will be eager to see Call of Duty hark back to its first game after the series' stock fell over recent years, due to misjudged sojourns towards sci-fi and space wars.
