Scenes from a British summer

With spring about to be sprung and tickets about to be bought for a glut of summer festivals, it pays to remember what you're letting yourself in for.

Photography book 'Scenes From A British Summer Country Pop Music Festival’ by Stuart Roy Clarke was compiled over the course of six summers to capture the highs and lows that any festival visit provokes. Although there are inevitable pictures of mud, tents and people in hats, there's something here that goes to explain why we keep going back. "I'm at the festival," writes Clarke, "because it presents an ideal – I still believe, despite life's knocks, that love conquers all."
