Is John Terry About To Ruthlessly Betray Steve Bruce?

Treachery!

In a tale of deception and treachery that would rival even Game of Thrones, rumours abound that recently-signed Aston Villa captain John Terry could soon usurp Steve Bruce as manager.

36-year-old Terry signed a one-year deal at Villa Park after nearly two decades at Chelsea, seemingly with the view of picking up some coaching experience on the side as he gears up for a career in management.

But it looks like he might have to don a suit sooner than he thought, as Steve Bruce's floundering performance has led many fans to call for the defender to replace him as player/manager.

Following Wednesday's 3-0 defeat against Cardiff City, Bruce called for more time, saying:

"There's still obviously a load of work to be done but judge us when all the players are fit and ready and at the minute we are having a tough time. We have had a tough start – Newcastle (United) had a tough start last year – we have to batten down the hatches, still believe in what we are doing and get that win which will obviously give everyone a lift."

But the writing seems to be on the wall, with the Villans picking up just one point from nine this season.

We'll have to wait and see.
