Zlatan Ibrahimović has played across many of Europe's top clubs, alongside some of the best players in football history. Lionel Messi. Xavi. Patrick Vieira. Luis Figo. Del Piero. The list goes on and on.
But when it comes to the most talented player he's ever played with, the Swedish striker has a surprising choice.
Speaking to SportBible, he said: "I've played with great champions […] but the one I felt could do it longer – and he didn't do it – was Adriano.
"When I came to Inter the first thing I said to the president was 'I demand him to stay because he is the player I want to play with'.
"The way he was, he was an animal. He could shoot from every angle. Nobody could tackle him, nobody could take the ball, he was a pure animal.
"But it lasted for a short time."
A hipster choice from Zlatan, Adriano impressed during his prolific stint at Inter Milan in 2005 but soon suffered a drop in form, amidst speculation regarding his work ethic and private life. He went on to play for clubs across Italy and Brazil, never hitting his previous heights.
When asked for the reason for Adriano's career drop-off, Zlatan explained:
"I don't know. Like I said, 50% of everything you do is the mental part. If you don't have it in your head it's difficult. In his case, I enjoyed playing with him, I saw him, I was happy that I played with him and against him. So well, it's a shame that it lasted such a short time."
