Jose Mourinho used to smolder. Now he just looks suspicious of everyone and everything around him. Or maybe he's furious? It's hard to tell.
Whatever the case, former Arsenal star and TV pundit Charlie Nicholas has had a good guess at what's playing on the Manchester United manager's mind 24/7: his defenders.
"I don't think he trusts his defenders," Nicholas said on Sky Sports' The Debate show.
Left-back Luke Shaw looks completely out-of-favour at Old Trafford following long lay-offs and accusations of an attitude problem, but he's not the only one who doesn't have Mourinho's faith.
"How many times have we had this discussion? Ever since Mourinho got there, he doesn't trust Smalling.
"I don't think he's convinced Jones is his man as he's not sure whether he's physically adaptable. He probably think he's a bit too rash. As we know, Lindelof has had an almighty struggle."
Lindelof signed for a €35 million fee in the summer from Benfica, but has performed badly in his rare appearances, including in United's Carabao Cup victory over Swansea.
There's one guy at the back who does have Mourinho's trust though, according to Nicholas.
"Bailly has been the one (he does trust)," continued Nicholas. "He's a bit raw. And then he brings in (Ashley) Young all of a sudden and you start to get confused.
"That's what Mourinho does and you are left scratching your head."
