Jose Mourinho Has Agreed A Deal For Benfica Wunderkid Umaro Embalo

Good news for Manchester United fans. Maybe...

While we all struggle to muster up some enthusiasm for the international break, let's indulge in a little transfer gossip to tide us over.

This one falls under the 'Wunderkid' rather than the 'Transfer Record' or 'Big Name Departure' categories, but it's an interesting on all the same.

Step forward 16-year-old Umaro Embalo, the Benfica player who has caught the eye of Jose Mourinho at Manchester United - in one of those rare moments he finds between fighting invisible demons - and has all but signed a deal, according to various reports.

Born in Guinea, Embalo has an impressive return for Portugal's under 17s – 15 goals in 18 appearances – though the forward is yet to make a senior start for his club.

He played in Benfica's Uefa Youth League side against United earlier this season which is how he ended up on the club radar, however this wouldn't be a transfer gossip story without saying that Real Madrid, Manchester City and Liverpool are all apparently interested too.

Wunderful.
