Othello Woolf, or Oliver as he is otherwise known, unleashed his sparky debut single "Stand" back in January. The 27 year-old Londoner's lazy dance hall beats and upbeat melodies bring to mind a young Bryan Ferry - which only adds to our certainty that Othello's upcoming album (released on 5 July) will make an ideal soundtrack to the summer. If it ever happens.
Whatever the weather, Othello Woolf will play a stripped-back acoustic gig at London's Sanderson hotel this evening (Thursday) as part of the Morgan Hotel group's summer music series, Sanderson Predicts.
A series of live performances are lined-up for July and August in the hotel's impressive courtyard. Proceedings kicked off a few weeks back with a rip-roaring set from 'I Blame Coco', and performances from upcoming names including Babe Shadow (label partners of Florence + The Machine) and Gaggle are eagerly anticipated at Esquire HQ.
Othello Woolf will perform on Thursday 17 June at the Sanderson Hotel, 50 Berners Street, London, England W1T 3NG. www.sandersonlondon.com
