Elmgreen & Dragset

Are you prepared to break one of life’s cardinal rules and take a nap on the job? Louis Vuitton are encouraging it…

At their New Bond Street Maison, Vuitton have teamed up with acclaimed international art-duo Elmgreen & Dragset (whose work has been displayed on Trafalgar Square’s Fourth Plinth) to create a unique installation.

Omnes Una Manet Nox (One night awaits us all) features an oversized fairytale bed on which members of Vuitton staff will sleep throughout the day, whilst renowned actors and writers read them bedtime stories.

The London and Berlin-based artists have also curated a shelf of story books, and installed a miniature version of their Fourth Plinth work in the lobby of the Maison.

As you might expect from a duo who once  installed a luxury boutique in the middle of the Texan desert, the results of Elmgreen and Dragset’s Vuitton collaboration are mischievous, subversive and well worth a look.
