Flying Insults

Mr Bingo

Most Popular

With his abuse-by-mail service, illustrator Mr Bingo corners a strangely uncrowded market...

For his latest project, entitled Hate Mail, illustrator and regular Esquire contributor Mr Bingo (not what his mum calls him) offered the public the chance to be insulted by him in print and picture. In return for a small fee, he creatively illustrated old zingers like “you suck” and “you’re fat” on postcards, which he then posted back to his commissioners. Definitely a more interesting arrival on the doormat than a bank statement (and if you appreciate the funny side, less likely to make you cry). Now Mr Bingo has collected his 100 favourite postcards in a book. Forget blithering fury and Twitter wars — this is old-fashioned post and proper spite.

Hate Mail by Mr Bingo is out on 11 October (Michael Joseph)
