Bad Puns: A Celebration

7 of the best (or worst) puns from new book 'It's a Punderful Life'

It’s a Punderful Life is the type of paronomasia – to give the humble pun its technical terminology – that induces groans. It’s the title of a new collection of puns by illustrator Gemma Correll. Thankfully, the rest are more likely to put grins atop chins.

Much mirth is made from Viz-style visual gags that include luggage with issues (emotional baggage) to committed cornflakes (cereal monogamy), or a particularly fraught insect (a nervous tick – aha!).

So the only real groaner of the bunch is the title. May we suggest some alternatives? There’s “Top Pun”, or “Empire of the Pun”, or “The (Wo)man with the Golden Pun(s)”, or “Crime and Pun-ishment”. (“Take the Money and Pun”, more like.) No? Sorry about that.
